Tether question

I'm looking for opinions. I need HTTPS access. I DO NOT want to root. I have a droid 1

I think this only leaves me with pdanet and easy tether (both pay versions)

What are the pro's and cons?
Has anyone used either specifically for HTTPS?

I don't really like the fact that pdanet requires so much access to my phone to install, but i've read that support is better for it vs easy tether.

Please advise.

nevermind. been doing some more reading and it appears that easytether is the way to go if you want to save a bit of money and not get sms on the computer. otherwise it's the same.

if i'm wrong, someone please chime in.
