tether to PS3 and mac

I have been working on the connectivity to my mac with the DUN, and although successful, the connection is broken after 5 minutes unless I'm actively searching the internet. I disabled the screen/sleep mode to no avail.

Is there any way to tether to my PS3 so that I can join the PSN. I went through the setting for the PS and tried to connect via BT, but when I made my phone "discoverable" while the PS was searching for a signal, it wouldn't recognize it. If there is any explanation for this, any hardware I need to get etc. Please advise. I feel like that chick's boyfriend in the PS commercial who is on the PS3 but not on the internet...and I don't like candles either

are you wired to your computer from the ps3? you won't be able to connect to the internet with the ps3 unless the phone isn't connected directly to the computer, i.e. wi-fi tether. then you should have some luck.
