Without using the handcent app, which I found to slow down my droid, what is the best set up for my droid to vibrate when text comes in and also status lite to flash when text arrives. Thank you

For vibrate: In "Messaging" go to "Options" (2nd button from the right on your hard keys), select "Settings", the very last option is "Vibrate". Select this option and your phone will vibrate when a text comes in.
