Text Message application freezes phone

I've been having some difficulty lately with the text message app. When I open it to view all my messages, the screen freezes and I can't get out. The back and home buttons will cause vibration if I press them, but nothing will happen. If I turn the screen off and back on, then the phone will work fine and I can get to my text messages on the second try. I am using Android 2.2.1. I don't have any other apps that freeze the phone. Anyone else have this issue?

Nope, I don't have the Pro, but I have a suggestion. Go to settings/applications/manage applications/all applications. Find texting. Clear data and cache.

If that doesn't fix it then you may have to do a factory data reset.

Okay! So far my phone likes that. It only showed 8.00 KB of data to be cleared, so I wasn't sure whether it would do much. But I can get in and out of Text Messaging with ease now. I hope it continues to work. Thanks for your help!!
