Text Message Count

Other than the stupid icon, the other thing that annoys me with the text message on the stock app is the count of how many texts ther are between you and another person.. well i find this quite annoying, as Ill text my girl quite a bit, so it constanly says 200... is there any way to get rid of the numbers?

Do you have any reservations about using a third party messaging app? I highly recommend Handcent SMS. You can customize practically everything.

I'd rather not use a 3rd party app... I dont like the way Handcent looks

Yeah, stock Android SMS is VERY vanilla with very few options. I love Handcent personally but there are other great options like Go SMS.

There's not much choice. The stock SMS app is very barebones. If you dislike Handcent, there's also Chomp SMS.
