Text message formating/notifications sounds ringing

My first question is their a way to format your text messages like change the color make it bold. On my old LG phone you were able to do this but I can't find how to do this with this phone. This is.my first smart phone so im sill new to them but It seems that a phone as smart as their suppose to be would have some way of doing this. Also how do you stop the ring tones from ringing on top of each other

It would be a setting in the app and would only affect your view. SMS is just text. There's no formatting.
