Text message pictures

Why is it that sometime when I send a picture as an attachment in my text message it show up in my text message on it's side. Not the way the picture is in my Gallery.

Is there a way to send a picture and it will appear right side up in my message ??

If it's a picture you took with your camera, more than likely it's one you took holding the camera upright. The camera app is meant to take pictures in landscape mode, just as you would hold any other camera.

There is an option to rotate the picture, but I do not know if it will then save it in the direction after the rotate, maybe gie that a try before you send?
