Text messages disappearing

Every so often my text message widget will force close and after this happens all my text messages and conversations disappear. Does anyone know how to recover them or prevent this from happening ?

This issue has been reported many times from people with all android phones. The only "fix" I know is to use handscent or another text app.

I've never lost a text message, but I am not a huge text user.

had this happen to me and I just use the stock text app...contacted store they said it happens to them too lol...just something that happens...not a very good answer but Oh well..at least you can send and receive...I'm not getting either or for the past 4 days now...
