Text Messages Not Loading after ICS Update

I can see I have new text messages but when I try to open and text message screen it never gets past the loading screen, anyone else having this issue? It didn't start until I downloaded the ICS update this morning. Any fixes or solutions to the problem? Thanks

I would recommend doing a factory reset, most ICS update issues are resolved by doing one.

I'd say ace is onto something, but before taking that big leap into redoing your phone try these three things first.

Clear caches and free up memory

Menu>Settings>Storage>Make more space (Top) (follow prompts)

Menu>Settings>Storage>Make more space (Bottom) (clear temporary files)

Clear out some of your old MMSs in your messages. They take up a lot of room and can affect the app.

Then you can do a hard reset. Remember to check the market for a good backup program.
