text messages out of order

so I know someone else mentioned this in another thread but I forgot to bookmark it and didn't follow through to find what others offered as advice.

ever since the 2.2 update, my text messages have been all out of whack. it's so whacky that it's not even easy to describe. but if I send out several individual messages all at once, they will all show at the top of the screen, and even when I get an incoming message, it shows up at the bottom of all the sent messages.

hopefully I've explained this well and someone can help.

From what I have read, it is a problem in the 2.2 update and there is nothing you can do about it. Some issue with the time stamp. Since I don't keep text messages on my phone, I don't have a problem.

Yes this is a problem with 2.2, but you can fix it by using the current version of either Handcent or ChompSMS instead of the stock text app. Both are better SMS clients anyway.

Remember it is a personal perference.... I hated both Handcent and ChompSMS.
I don't store messages for long periods of time, so the stock client works just fine for me.

hmmmm I never thought I'd need to download an app for a non-stock text message client but I guess I'll have to give it a try.
