Text ringtone. First does part then DROID then Vibrate

Hello Droid goers,

I have my first question that I can't seem to find an answer on. I have all my notifications set up. E-mail accounts, phone ringtone, everything is different and working perfect other than my texting notification. I hope someone here can help.

Okay, so this is what happens; First when I get a Text, my droid will play my personal ringtone, but only the very first second or two. Then it will stop and say DROID and vibrate....

Am I missing something somewhere?

what are your settings set to when you go to messaging> hit menu> settings> and under notification settings?

The Notifications display message in status bar is ticked

Select ringtone is my custom ringtone as green

Vibrate is not ticket

are you using any other app to view txt's like handcent? because if you are and you don't go back into the messaging one and turn off the notifications it will notify you twice. or it very well could do what you are explaining since the default app could be set to vibrate and have the driod alert sound.
