Texting. Contacts the same with Gmail account and current cell number.

I send texts to my phone as a reminder or grocery list etc. I send texts to my gmail account too. My name shows up for my email and phone text so I have no way of determining if it is my email or text to phone. Is there a way of changing the name of either contact?
