Texting errors with Droid2

While composing text messages my Droid2 will sometimes open other programs.
When I press L the calender will open.
Pressing P will open the music player.
If I press G it opens Gmail.
This wil repeat unless I power cycle the phone.

Also, the touch screen is highly inaccurate when the phone is connected to the charge.
This is mostly when the phone is laying flat.

The system version is 4.5.601.A955 Verizon.en.US
Android version 2.3.3

Its a year old.

What is up?
Anyone experience these?

I had the same problems twice. The first time I had this problem (October), they (Verizon) had to do a systems upgrade. They said I could not do the upgrade myself, one of their techs had to do it. The second time, they told me it's a systemic problem and the temporary fix is to remove "word predict" in texting. They untagged word predict and the problem was resolved. They said it would be fixed in the next download and at that time, I should be able to turn word predict back on. I just left it off. Very frustrating!
