Texting not sending messages

So I used the messanger app on my Droid RAZR M, and I noticed it was "sending messages" for hours before failing to send. So I got a new app, but now i've noticed a LOT of messages are not sending, roughly 33%. Beyond pissed and frustrated with my droid, I just want to know how to use one of the basic features of my phone again, any help?

Have you tried going to Settings > Apps > Scroll over to All Apps > Tap Messaging and select Clear Data > then reboot your phone. I had a similar issue once with one of my RAZR M's and I think that cleared it up.
