Texting probs w/ Handcent and Live wallpapers

I have Handcent on my 2.1 Droid. When I have Live wallpapers active and I go to text someone, the droid will slow down, freeze then reset the homescreen back to the last wallpaper I had. I heard that this was a problem, How can I solve it.. Any help would be appreciated, I love using Handcent but not if it keeps doing this...

it's an issue with handcent, I've emailed the developer with no response or update. use the app at your own pleasure, or not.
