The alarm and auto power ON

On my blackberry, a very convenient feature that I used pretty much everyday was setting the alarm clock for a specific time and then turning the blackberry off, it would stay off until the time I set on the alarm, it would then turn on automatically and play the alarm.
Is there any way to do this with the D2?

If I could do this with my blackberry for at least 3 years, surely the innovative minds at Google can figure this out, I'm sure I'm not the only one out there to find this functionality extremely useful and take advantage of it.

They haven't figured out (read: don't care) how to organize Contacts by last name or have a calendar event take place every second Sunday in May. I wouldn't hold your breath.
