The Essential phone is finally starting to slowly ship to those who pre-ordered the device. If you never were able to get in on the pre-order, but are still interested in this phone you will be happy to know that you can now buy the phone from Best Buy. The phone will be sold unlocked and can be purchased in store or online. The phone's main feature is probably its very vanilla version of Android. Best Buy's version of the Essential is listed in the Black Moon color, has 4G LTE connectivity and 128GB of onboard storage. The full retail price is $699.99.

I'm wondering if they will even have a display model.

going to guess some will. I will have to drive an hour to the best buy but at least there is a candy craze store next to it to make it worth the trip if they do not have a demo. :-)

Every review so far mentions great build but software and camera experience a no go... I'd pass on picking this phone up till next round..

Yeah, bkdodger, the few hands on reviews so far left me on the cool side too. Besides I still haven't fired up my new Turbo yet. Should do that before the warranty expires.

I'd like to go check it out. It won't keep me from buying the iPhoneX though. I think they are going to have a tough time with sales releasing at the same time of the iPhone8.

Just for grins... I checked for any "in-stock". It seems the closest is 130 miles away. Yes I'm interested in seeing one in person. Just not THAT interested.

as mentioned before, I was going to go check it out but would have to drive an hour. just checked online to see if it was available at the store and its not. oh well. did see they had a 50 percent off the phone if you went with sprint - soon to be merged with t-mobile.

If you don't put a great camera in the initial device, you blew it.
People will overlook a whole BUNCH of stuff if the camera is top notch.

Yeah I agree... cameras are big selling points... social media and being able to post something quality pics are important to most peeps nowadays
