The first Wearable that I want

So I have been healthily skeptical about the usefulness of the wearable designs and concepts that are floating around. Personally, the biggest thing on my list is a Motorcycle with a HUD, displaying racing lines similar to Forza.
I was glancing at Intel's Make It Wearable finalists, (stowing my cynicism) and I have found a wearable that I actually want!
A wrist-mounted camera that becomes a quadcopter. I present the Nixie:

At the current moment, that is all it seems to be: a wearable-flying-selfie-camera, but somehow it resonates with me. Im going to keep my eyes on this project, but I am shocked that the first wearable that I want is so strangely one-purpose.

Wow, I would snap off one or all the propellers in a few minutes wearing the goofy thing. I like the idea of using a quad at work for inspection, but for a selfie just dumb.

You are an enigma. You "have been healthily skeptical about the usefulness of the wearable designs and concepts", but think that thing is useful??

I don't think it's so much useful as I'm surprised that I want it.

I'm surprised you haven't seen SKULLY

What makes you think I haven't? What makes you think that right now I am NOT currently currently in the throes of a review of this helmet?

Perhaps it's because this is not heaven. :( Someday though.

Because helmet HUD is much more versatile then motorcycle HUD. Most bikes don't have enough windshield glass for HUD display. Helmets with visors are much more viable.

I think SKULLY is going to revolutionize helmet technology.

Absolutely. I like helmets like the REEVU, that have a mirror system built in and allow you to always see exactly what is behind you without getting in the way of your forward view. I would like to try one out on the race track, where you have no mirrors and things, but still be able to see what is behind you and who might be about to smack into the back of you, etc...

Having a HUD in the helmet, displaying gear indicator, RPM, speed and the current lap time would be awesome. Being also able to use it for lings like NAV on the road would be great too...

I think this has a very specific use. Is it cool, I don't have a use for it, but the mountain climbing shot was great. My brother-in-law would love that has he is an avid mountain climber.

As the comment above me says, I think having a HUD in a helmet for a motorcycle is amazing.
