For years CyanogenMod has been the go to Rom for anyone wanting a custom Rom experience. There are thousands of options when it comes to custom roms but I always seem to make my way back to CyanogenMod. CM seems to be about as close as you can get to stock Android on any device with an unlocked bootloader. The rom of course also brings lots of custom features that you can only get on a CM rom. There is one downside to using CyanogenMod.
If you flash nightly builds you may find that things are a bit buggy at times. Nightly builds are built every nite by bots. When fixes are added sometimes other things are broken. To combat the bugginess Cyanogen has come up with a Snapshot system. These builds are built on a semi regular basis by humans. Most of the bugs are removed from these builds and this is about the most stable experience you can get from a CM rom.
There are some new features like a new bootanimation, the august security patch (including two of the four vulns in the Quadrooter exploit), a new tweak to wifi hotspot which auto turns off the feature when its not in use saving battery, new notification light controls, ability to restrict apps to use only wifi to help save on your data, and much more. Find the Snapshot for your phone at the link below.
