It looks like Samsung will be looking to beat Apple to market with their next flagship device after all. According to a new report the Note 8 will be launched as soon as August 23rd. This is in line with the release cycle that Samsung has used for the past two years. This date has not been directly confirmed by Samsung, however a Samsung exec did go on record to say that they are currently planning to unveil the Galaxy Note 8 at a New York event next month. We still expect to see a 6.3" infinity display and a price tag approaching $1000.

I still can't get over $1000+ for a phone! What are Samsung (and Apple for that matter) thinking?

Agreed, but at what point does honest profit become nothing but pure greed?

"Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Kwon Oh-hyun was the highest-paid executive by taking 14.95 billion won (US$12.98 million) last year, which is higher than the salary taken by Jung Mong-koo, the owner and chairman of Htundai Motor Group"

"As Chief Executive Officer at APPLE INC, Tim Cook made$8,747,719 in total compensation. Of this total$3,000,000 was received as a salary, $5,370,000 was received as a bonus, $0 was received in stock options, $0 was awarded as stock and $377,719 came from other types of compensation."

They can never have enough, and that's only 2 of them. As long as people are willing to pay they will continue to raise the price.
