The Penny Trick on the Verizon Logo

Showed this to a friend today... thought I'd post it again just in case you ain't seen it yet...

Use a new penny and it works a little smoother... use firm pressure but don't "dig" at it... take your time and you end up with an unbranded face... works on Bionic and Droid 3 confirmed... i don't know of any others but I'm sure there are others with the same finish

This was one of the first things I did to my bionic back in September. Easy with no scratches.

Same here. HATE the branding on phones. Wish there was a way to remove the Motorola logo too. But that's under the glass im afraid

Any soft metal that is softer than the aluminum will work. A hard plastic will probably work too.

Nail polish remover will probly screw up the finish on the phone... the copper penny is proven to be hard enough to remove the logo but soft enough and smooth enough not to scratch the baked finish on the chin

I am not trying to be a smart *** but why would anyone care if the brand is on a phone? The type is so small it can't be a "good looks" thing.

I like the Motorola on the top because it doesn't get scuffed and has a nice look to it. The Verizon logo on the bottom gets scuffed and looks cheap just like the hdmi on the side. The logos on the back don't look too bad because they don't seem to scratch as easy. That is my reason.

Ok...I tried it and you are right. Looks cleaner.

Thanks

Just took care my Bionic with an Andrew Jackson dollar coin. Same copper as in a penny, only bigger :)

Did this with mine, too, love the look of it! It looks much more professional, clean, and modern without the logo... kinda wish I could get that moto logo off the top there, too, though, now!

I love to answer this question... i've been like this since i was a kid... if i got a bicycle for christmas, the first thing i did was start peeling off all the stickers and logos... then as i got older i did it on my cars, taking off the emblems and pinstripes... i like the paint job... not the advertising that the manufacturer plasters all over everything they make to help sell more units... i think of it every time i see somebody open a laptop and all the stickers from the factory are still stuck on there.... "intel inside... quadcore... 1080p"... i just wanna peel them all off and say "see how nice that looks now?!"

But that's just me... and that's what makes the world go round... all our different points of view... if it wasn't this way... there would be no android... we would all be using an iPhone... and we would all be happy with that

I think i just puked a little in the back of my throat
