Outside of just fiddling around with it for an hour, my friend got a Thunderbolt to replace his droid and complaining over numerous problems. Since I'm his his go to guy for tech troubleshooting or repairing, he asked me if I can do something with the horrible battery life. He gives me his phone for the weekend while he goes out of town, and I finally get 48 hours with this phone...
I never liked this phone, but I go in without my predjudices..its 36 hours and sort of extended the battery life but this phone is RIDICULOUS. 4G is Amazingly quick and surpassed my expectations after more use, but that was it. I felt the UI to be clunky..the damn thing kept restarting on me, and stock the phone is almost unusable.. I'm suprised my friend lasted this long on stock. If I could describe this phone...I would say it feels like a hinged and ankle cuffed Nexus, and no not a Nexus S, the first nexus of yesteryear. Performance wise this thing is faster than my droid 1, which isn't saying much since my phone is from '09, but compare it to some of the other phones I've played with and with the flagships shortly coming...this phone doesn't deserve an upgrade or a new contract over.
In conclusion
Ever drove a car with a turbo? It looks fast and the dealership told you the car is fast, put your foot down and nothing happens... that's what I would sum up the Thunderbolt. Turbo Lag. With 4G being a really good low monthly payment...
P.s
The reason I'm typing on my Droid instead of it is because the phone still restarts at random times.
