Thuderbolt is horrible. Get over it.

Outside of just fiddling around with it for an hour, my friend got a Thunderbolt to replace his droid and complaining over numerous problems. Since I'm his his go to guy for tech troubleshooting or repairing, he asked me if I can do something with the horrible battery life. He gives me his phone for the weekend while he goes out of town, and I finally get 48 hours with this phone...

I never liked this phone, but I go in without my predjudices..its 36 hours and sort of extended the battery life but this phone is RIDICULOUS. 4G is Amazingly quick and surpassed my expectations after more use, but that was it. I felt the UI to be clunky..the damn thing kept restarting on me, and stock the phone is almost unusable.. I'm suprised my friend lasted this long on stock. If I could describe this phone...I would say it feels like a hinged and ankle cuffed Nexus, and no not a Nexus S, the first nexus of yesteryear. Performance wise this thing is faster than my droid 1, which isn't saying much since my phone is from '09, but compare it to some of the other phones I've played with and with the flagships shortly coming...this phone doesn't deserve an upgrade or a new contract over.

In conclusion
Ever drove a car with a turbo? It looks fast and the dealership told you the car is fast, put your foot down and nothing happens... that's what I would sum up the Thunderbolt. Turbo Lag. With 4G being a really good low monthly payment...

P.s
The reason I'm typing on my Droid instead of it is because the phone still restarts at random times.

Sad but true.

I agree, I upgraded from an origianl droid which IMO is still better than the Thunderbolt. Apps don't work as they should on the TB, the phone doesn't seem to perform much better than my OG Droid. The screen is nice and 4G is quick but I'm seriously down on HTC phones after the TB. Does rooting and installing an ASOP rom help any?

The roms have helped but in last 6 hours the phone has restarted twice. There isn't much else I can do about battery but I'm sure the restarting is gonna get on my friends nerves. I'm gonna see what I can do.

I've never had any problems with restarts but the battery issue for me was fixed with the latest update and it runs circles around my og droid and my X and even my 16 year old daughters I-4

My Thunderbolt

I agree, I love mine and 4G isn't even active yet where I live (it goes live June 16, can't wait). OP just sounds like a hater. I traded my OG D1 in to get my TB.

No problems either, and can get enough battery till I had time to sit and recharge. Mine hasn't restarted since I got it 4 day ago.

4g phone with no 4g? Huh?

He's running on 3g until it launches in his area?

Side note, not rooted, I've had ZERO issues with my TB. I love it. If I root it (debating) will be just remove the bloatware.

That's actually not how a turbo car works at all.

Besides, the turbo comparison defeats your argument. If you work on a turbo car there's nothing faster and better on the road

I thought I pretty clearly stated its going live on June 16. Until then yes 3G works just fine
