Thunderbolt or Droid Charge?

After using both i have to say Thunderbolt because the Droid Charge is basically a 4G Fascinate not much going for it besides The Super AMOLED Screen and battery

sent from my Droid Charge test phone...

I have to say the thunderbolt after playing with both in store I took the thunderbolt home and I love this thing! Its my first droid and definitely won't be my last....wish the bionic was out though most definitely would have bought that if it was available and swype is cool too

Been doing my homework on both for the past two weeks and i dont know about everyone else but i like weight and a durable feel to my phone, the charge just feels super cheap and has a funky design. TB on its way :)

This was my debate as well, ultimately I decided on the tb because I liked the feel of it better. I have been fortunate and (I am assuming) without going between 3g/4g I get great battery life and have no reboot issues.

I bought the droid charge yesterday and I have to say... I'm not that impressed..(with the phone I mean, 4g is freaking amazing!)... my girlfriend went with the thunderbolt yesterday and i almost wish I had too.. If nothing special happens with the charge within my 14 day limit I am definitely thinking about paying the restock fee and getting the TB

couple reasons I'm swaying towards this decision is because..
the phone feels cheap..
when taking a picture in the dark using the flash I get a weird glow on the left side of the picture(Maybe this is just my phone?, doesn't make sense since flash is on the right side.. also that glow isn't there when taking picture in light)
Girlfriend was holding a better 4g signal at my house than I was..
It may be the ROM(Gummy Charge), or my phone, I don't know, but the only charger my phone sees as AC is the one it came with, everything else makes the phone think its plugged into a computer through USB.
And I'll list one that little gripe that is person preference... reason I installed gummy charge is because I could not stand the brown and gold stock theme...

Anyways.. sorry, hope i didn't just jack the thread or annoy anyone, this is all just experiences I have had and personal preference.. going to do some playing around with my girlfriends TB and then make my decision
One last thing.. felt like other than the 4g the charge was a step down from my DX

Tbolts ALL the way!!!!!!!!!! its capabilities are outstanding, and our devs are gods among men. sense 3.0>touch wiz. i upgraded from the OG droid, and my head damn near exploded when i managed to get 3330 in quadrant consistently

If this was a couple weeks ago, I'd say you could really go either way. After having most of my issues solved by the MR2 update, I would definitely go Thunderbolt. It's already a solid device and with continued support it will only get better.

TB w/out a doubt..A whole lot more Dev support and Like the OG Droid, It;s only going to get Sikka:) I don't regret TB at all. I did contemplate on Charge or TB and convincingly ended up w/TB. Charge feels cheap and buttons are not placed right on phone..I wish Charge screen could have been built on TB though..That's about it..

I'm still on the fence.

For the Thunderbolt, the reported reboot issues are a deal-breaker for me -- reliability is my number one consideration. The reported battery life is also major concern, though I'm willing to buy an extended battery if that will let me regularly at least 18 hours on 1 charge with 6-8 hours of local music playing and 1-3 hours of LTE web browsing. I'm willing to install an AOSP-based ROM (CyanogenMod 7, which I use on my Droid, would be my preference, but it isn't even at alpha yet) if that solves problems that the stock ROM has without losing key capabilities.

For the Charge, I'm a little worried about it only having 512MB RAM (vs. 768 for the Thunderbolt and 256 for the Droid I have now). I'm also a bit worried about reported lag with the stock ROM, but I'm willing to try the Voodoo lagfix that reportedly addresses that, plus I'd probably use ADW launcher (like I do now) in place of the stock launcher. The Super Amoled screen is a plus, and reports that it is much easier to read in bright sunlight than the Thunderbolt's screen is also a plus.

That would be my dilemma also... i want a phone that will work when I need to use it. So far it seems that the advantages of the charge over TB are the charge does not have the reboot issues nor the absurd lack of battery life. It is the reboot issues that most concern me and so far it has been months with no real fix yet.

First, my coworkers has a charge and it has similar battery issues...any of these first gen 4G phones will have it to some degree. Second, I believe the MR2 update definitely fixed reboot problems.

I've read reports from the last few days that users are still experiencing the reboots even with the latest updates.

Everyone on this forum that has installed MR2 has reported that it fixed the reboot problem...perhaps there are a couple of exceptions, but my uptime is going on 24+ hours

Yea I've heard mostly positive reviews from the MR 2/ MR2.5 radios. I never had a reboot problem, but it has seemed to fix it for those how had. I'd still like to know the difference between the two radios though.

It can be frightening reading a bunch of people writing about constant reboots or this and that. But let me tell you that people that have problems complain.... most of those that don't have problems you never hear from. I don't have any of the issues that many speak of and never have. There is no doubt some people have problems and always will, but I also think some don't know how to fix their simple issues. Go to any of the the forums of any of the phones and you will see people having problems screaming that their phone sucks.... lol
