ok i dont know why i did it but... well i did it because verizon's 4G was down yesturday so i wanted to see just what the numbers were.
so here you go.

app used: speedtest. net mobile (found in the market)
location of test: Milford Michigan
location of closest server: Southfield Michigan
3 speedtests per network to get an average
but you can do the math.
(aprox. distance between the two 30 miles)

ok the numbers dont lie!

dont know if this matters but 1X and 4G networks
were done inside a building and the 3G test was done
outside in my car?

and yes i do realize i could of just used drocap to take screen shots of my thunderbold but honestly i couldnt figure the damn app out so this was faster.

so 3g has really slow pings and 1x has really fast ones? So the 1x cdma network has very low latency while 3 has a higher one?

Iv checked mine on 3g using speedtest and I get a little over 2mbps down and almost 1mbps up. On 4G I get between 11 and 13 down and 4 to 5 up. I live in jersey.

Dang on 4G here in Jacksonville Florida I get 6mbps download and 2 mbps upload, but i think the reason its slow is because im kinda far from the nearest tower...i have like 1 to no bars all the time...
