I've read mixed things about a hard reset correcting issues with ICS including battery. I've read the forums and threads about. My maxx has seen a decrease in battery life since update, but not a huge amount. So would it be worth it for me to do a hard-reset on it.

Can never hurt that is for sure, as long as you have your respective files you need backed up.

A hard reset TOTALLY fixed all of the 'issues' (including diminished battery life) which I initially had following the update to ICS. Definitely recommend that you take the plunge!

By hard reset, you're meaning a factory reset? I had to do a couple of them, I did one, and I had widget issues, so I did two. Others have done two with great results. It is said that doing two is a waste of time in a recent article, and I'm sure that person knows more than I do... but I know what's worked for me and others. :)

Ymmv :)

I've had positive results doing this, of course with every other android phone ive had, I did it about once a month anyway.

I'd go into the Stickies section and perform the instructions on clearing cache first..i wished i had seen it before doing a hard factory reset. Such a pain to have to reset everything over again..

Actually ...A factory data reset is good practice every once in a while as also is a Daily reboot. When you reboot daily your refreshing your apps and etc. Like a computer ..When you find your lagging or having bad juju this Factory data reset is a very good thing. Google will take care of all of your apps and or settings. Just let your phone settle after it loads up and sign in to your accounts. Then your apps...peace! And yes this is common knowledge but you wouldn't believe how many people do not know what a FDR is or Reboot...LOL Hope this helps.
Happy Flashing! Peace! D2D out!!!

Awesome, thanks for all the comments, got some good insight and info. One more question, do I need to uncheck the box labeled under privacy, Automatic restore prior to doing an FDR?
