touch screen keyboard possible issue

Hi all,

I'm wondering if I have an issue with the virtual KB.

If I'm trying to message, or I go to a thread in messaging, where it displays the thread, sometimes I really have to hit the "type to compose" a bit before I can get the VKB to appear.

I also wondered if you were to open the VKB in portrait mode and then turn landscape, even if you began typing, does your VKB disappear? Mine does and you have to hit it to bring it up again, if you had typed in portrait, those entries are still there, you just have to hit ti to get the VKB.

It does work, I just want to make sure I'm not having an issue in which I have to return it to the VZW store for another (then wondering what the new one will do, etc.)

The touch screen itself is great! I think this if at all may just be a quirk in the OS, but wanted other opinions.

my phone behaves the same way. i can imagine this being related to the non-rotation of the home screen - i.e. when you go from portrait to landscape something in the phone assumes you have the physical keyboard available, until you tell it you dont by tapping the entry space to call up the software keyboard.

Hi Suz,

I'm not concerned that the VKB went away in itself. What I'm saying is that it take a bit of effort tapping to get it to come up in landscape, other times there is no problem at all, mostly my issue with it is when I want to add an additional line to the thread, it take a bit of effort.

I do think you and I are on the same page though with it, I'm glad to hear someone else seems to know what I mean!

I would think if it were a touchscreen issue itself, (only that one area) then it wouldn't be just for that, that area wouldnt work at all. So I'm feeling a bit more relaxed in thinking it may just be a quirk in the OS.

Im just making sure I have the same issue does this happen when you are going to send a text message and you have to press compose here multiple times before the keyboard comes up because mine does that also hoping when froyo comes out it fixes this
