Touch screen won't work?

My touch screen will not work! The phone is functioning correctly from what I can tell, but it wont let me enter my unlock pattern. It doesn't even acknowledge that I am touching it. If I slide it open, the screen rotates, so I know it isn't frozen. The phone still dims when I press the top button. Is there a way to fix it? I have turned it off several times, and only once has it responded for a few seconds..

Do you have it plugged into a wall charger that wasn't made for it? Because I know iPod wall charges really screw with my X

nope, it was working fine all day, set it down to go play baseball, came back and it wont work. didnt drop it or anything. just stopped

Is it really hot? Sometimes mine won't work if the screen is really hot. If not then I have no idea what the problem could be. ):

the phone seems normal. its nice and cool inside my house and the phone is cool to the touch. i dont know what could have caused it. maybe 2 years is all this phone could take
