Touchscreen and face buttons unresponsive

I was at work today and my phone was functioning perfectly, then I went to respond to a text and I couldn't unlock my phone. Nothing was functioning, home, search keys etc. I then turned off my phone and put it in the truck and an hour later I came back and it was working fine. 30 minutes after that it was back to it's unresponsive self. The physical buttons still seem to be working, but the touchscreen and capacitive buttons are not. Any solutions?

I'm having this same problem so I'm hoping someone posts an answer. A minute ago I just had to do 3 or 4 reboots before I could get it to work again. Shortly after this last reboot it said that Activity Home (or something like that) wasn't responding, so I force closed it and now it seems to be working, but it worried me. What if I couldn't take it back to Verizon because it was rooted and I couldn't go back to stock? Ugh.
