Touchscreen Keyboard

Does anyone else have the problem of hitting the period button instead of the space button when using the touchscreen keypad? I have done this on all of the touch screens I have had, so maybe it's just me. It ends.up.looking.like. this.and.it's.really.annoying.

I know the easiest way to fix this problem is to use the regular keypad, but I type a little faster on the touchscreen. Is there a way to move around the buttons on the touchscreen that does NOT involve rooting (though I don't know if you can even if rooted)? Moving the space bar to the right on the screen would solve this problem.

Don't know about any apps, but maybe you could practice slowing down a little?
(just till you get used to the keyboard)
