Transfer apps from my Incredible to a tablet?

I know this probably isn't specific to an Incredible but I thought I would ask here. If I get a tablet, can I transfer apps that I have on my Incredible to the tablet and/or run two copies of the apps?

I am referring to doing this by the book - no stealing apps, etc.
