transfering data and some other questions?

hey guys i just got a Droid X today. right now i have a Droid 1 on UD 2.5.0. is there any way to transfer apps and other stuff to the Droid X? i plan to put Liberty on the X. also, should i format my micro sd before i use it in the Droid X or am i okay leaving it as it is?
