This thread is for those who saw the movie or do not care about spoilers. Discussions here will give away the plot and talk about everything in the movie and is many for those who saw it. So if you saw the movie let's talk in detail about it here.

I couldn't go into detail because I wanted to be respectful of those who did not see the movie.

I really feel like the transformers in this one was the best overall. What I did not like was the childless act of bumblebee and the other characters. I would have understood if he was like that in the first two but in this one doing that make it seem like he just dropped in maturity. If you look and part 2 and 3 you see a bumblebee character who matures and become almost like a leader so to see him in this one made me scratch my head where they were going.

Lockdown was awesome I felt like they did a great job with him.

Dezy you right the last 45 mins was on point. Just there are a few plot holes that bothered me. 1) how optimus go from struggling to walk and talk to scanning a truck and becoming like new. 2) how optimus is falling all over the place and then can fly into space at the end of the movie.

Yeah I think you fix a few plot holes, cut some of the human dialogue (or improve it), and spend a little more time developing the plot vs some of the pointless attempts at humor and you have a better overall film.

I agree with those plot holes...there's no way Cade had enough time or know how to do the repairs needed for prime to be in tip top shape. And yeah the jet boots, that was a wtf moment for me.
As for Bumblebee, he was always a little childish, but had an inferiority complex of sorts. Also you have to remember what they were going through, being hunted and killed. Hard to say how to react to that. This wasn't war it was senseless killing. I'm halt with what they did with him though. He had a smaller role.... and I'm over the inability to freaking talk. Bee wasn't becoming a leader in the other 3. He took direction well and reacted to the situation, but never thought long term. And struggled when left on his own.
Lockdown was great though. I saw one review that nailed it, he had swagger. He knew he was a bad ass and no one got away from him. I wished he hadn't been killed as I could see him as a continuing antagonist.
For the autobots Hound was my favorite. His attitude and bravado was great. And he just didn't give a damn. But would follow orders. He was definitely the guy you wanted on your side in a fight.

Here's a big character issue.. If you follow Peter Cullen (prime) he talks in depth about not yelling and being the calm collected leader.. Traits he took from his brother way back in g1. In fact prime is based off of his brother... I wonder how he feels about the direction change.. Though needed in this case..

I think he understands this is a different Prime. With very different circumstances. In all honesty this is a more realistic character than the G1 Prime.

Yeah Optimus had a pretty miraculous recovery. And the flying at the end left me with a giant "wth" face. I was blown away by the action sequences and they kinda throw in "hey Optimus can fly now" whereas in Rise of the Fallen he need JetFire's abilities. Wouldn't be a Bay film without some potholes in the story though.

As awesome as the Dinobots are, I am still a bit bitter that they were treated as "throw in" characters. I mean they started the movie off with dinosaurs and even showing the excavation of Grimlock (or was it maybe another Dinobot), but no history of them whatsoever other than "The legends are true." Well if they're legends then it means they have a story. Since at the end of the film Optimus granted their wish to be free, maybe the next movie will go into more detail and hopefully have them play a larger role.

The most annoying thing about the movie was Cade constantly reminding us he'll do anything to save his daughter. That easily could've been 15min cut out or replaced with something beneficial to the storyline.

Lockdown is the second best character of the franchise, period. Second only to Optimus in my personal opinion. He was portrayed as a badass and his personality and voice actor nailed it. I wish he was just defeated and not killed because he would have been great in the next movie. We'll have to see what they do with Galvatron, he reminds me alot of Starscream, kind of cowardly and quick to retreat. Megatron in the last two films had a pretty weak presence and they didn't do him justice in this one either.

The entire point of this is supposed to be for Bay to leave this movie in different hands.. And spin off, away from the main sect.. And follow 3 or 4 different paths. That's at least what I read in a Michael Bay interview a year or so ago

Lockdown reminded me of the predator, ship and all. When you see him you know what he is there to do.

I grew up a huge gen 1 fan and I also watched beast wars. I don't ever recall a character named lockdown, was he from a different version/generation?

Just got through watching the movie.. Interesting.. I'll just say that..

Feel free to voice your opinion of the movie. We all got different tastes in what we call entertainment. You wouldn't be the first to call it a "bad movie" or something along those lines.

I don't recall if he was in g1. He was in Transformers: Animated....same type character, a bounty hunter with no real affiliation. That's where they got the hook hand he used to climb the grain silo. He had that in the series. He also collected parts as trophies and used them to upgrade himself. He is a very cool character...ruthless.

I wonder if the quintesans (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) will be in the next one since they're the ones that made Prime and also brought him back to life.

I'm not saying it's bad.. I'm glad to see Optimus had more to him.. In the past movies he seemed reserved or just not the warrior in always known as Optimus.. I think that Bay is an idiot.. Optimus handled grimlock like he was nothing.. And had issues with lock down?
It's probably just me.. But I've come to know Optimus as a cunning warrior, yet in the movies (g1 animated too) they always seem to just forget that.. In the animated movie it was just to clear the path for new toys.. Then the uproar caused them to back peddle.. But I guess they made him more aggressive in his movie..

I guess the Optimus I hold onto in my mind is the Optimus that had shots bouncing off of his chest as he pushed on into battle.. But my view of the character was made as a very young boy..

He was always careful about his words, and seemed to weigh options, yet was one of the greatest fighters..

The Optimus that's always seemingly portrayed is the one from the g1 movie.. Where he is distracted by someone and is struck down.. It's like the entire franchise is full of that..

Another thing.. Now that they've gone the way of the transformers being built.. How does the cube play in.. And what happened to the matrix?

Then there's galvatron.. Wow... He portrayed the, watch from a distance and gripe, character of old.. But lacked his presence..

In short.. The movie feels like 3 so so, smaller movies, poorly spliced into one movie..

I should note that my views on Optimus are reflecting the character over the 4 Bay movies..
