I have been away from the forums for awhile with work, but I didn't know that the bootloader for the X had been cracked open?? Can you load custom roms on the X now??? And overclock??

Bootloader hasnt been cracked, however a workaround to load "ROMs" is available. Still cant access kernels....

Check the Droid X ROM section.

What ROM did you download and where did you place it on your SD card? If it's not on the root of your SD card, you wont be able to see it in CLockwork Recovery.

And when you boot into recovery, do you pick apply sdcard:update.zip? Or do you scroll down to install zip from sdcard, then choose zip from sdcard?

I download rubixFocused1.6.zip and I do see it on my SD card. Also when I boot into recovery it does not ask me to apply anything it just reboot the system.

You need to download rom manager from marketplace. Then you install and open. Go to flash recovery then reboot into recovery. REMEMBER this goes away each time you boot fine so you have to flash each time you want to use recovery.
