Trying to save apps to SD card

OK so with the new froyo 2.2 update you are now able to save apps to the SD card. So when i was messing around with that today i wanted to move a few of my apps that i use a lot over to my card. However very few of the apps were able to move over. I'm getting a new refurbished phone soon and i would like to not have to download all my apps that i use frequently again. Anyone know why i cant just move apps over or if there's something i can do to move them?

For what I've been able to find out, not all apps are set up to move to the sd card and even then not all of the app will move (Google Earth moves over only 1/4 for example).

To do more, you'll have to root your phone.

not all devs make their apps moveable (and thats good, some wouldnt work if they were moved)

id suggest mybackup pro or Titanium Backup (root req'd) to back up what you can..
