Turning off Privacy Backup Data

When I uncheck 'Backup my data' in the Settings/Privacy option, a warning pops up stating the 'Settings and application data will be erased from Google servers'. If I select the OK button, will I still be able to keep my Contacts and Calendar info in tact on my D2G?

Also, does anyone know the directory and filename for the Calendar? I can Export and Import Contacts to the SD card, but have not found the same option for saving Calendar entries.
