$1.99 on the Gear app store.
Works for Gear S1 and Gear S2 .
Totally standalone for the app itself but the watch can be tethered to the phone for a data connection using the phone instead of the watch.
Uses most recent NWS radar images, either static or time lapse and your closest NWS radar station as the center point. As an example my radar station is in Wakefield Virginia but covers me as well as Richmond you the north, Hampton Roads area, etc. I just zoom in to see the immediate vicinity
When I'm out kayaking if I hear what sounds like thunder I no longer have to dig the phone out of the dry bag , that's if I even brought it.
Load time of images is lightning quick, even on sluggish Bluetooth tether. The app states images can use up to 250KB for time lapse images but only 25KB for static ones. I might actually use a notable amount of data on my S this month.
Any current warnings issued by the NWS show up as well, a real nice thing to have when out and about .

I love that Crapple added the ability to remove bloatware
