Unable to add google account

I recently rooted my phone via easy root just fyi. I'm trying to add another gmail account to the phone and it keeps saying unable to establish reliable connection to google server.. I restarted the phone and all that good stuff but same thing.. I figured I would do *228 and that said my phone is unsuccessful in programming, and to call them from a land line.
Anyone have a clue what's going on here with me?

Wifi isn't helping.. Can vz see that I rooted? I unrooted just to see if I could then add an account and I was not able to.. Why would I have to call?

It's a known issue whether you are rooted or not... Happened to me..

I had it happen when trying to add a 2nd Gmail account. Finally got it working using IMAP and had to set it up manually.

Does anyone think its weird that when I call *228 it tells me to call vz from a land line?

Not if you are trying to activate it again and its already been done. I just sbf'd my phone back to stock and I had to call them to activate it. Was not working from handheld. As far as email goes I have two gmail accounts on my leak 2.2 rooted with no issues. Did you rename any files?
