im currently undervolted and underclocked at
300/15
540/28
650/33
800/40
What are you guys at so i can get an idea of what to change. I can play music for like 8 hours before my phone dies...
Lets hear what you guys are at.

My phone doesnt like the ulv settings. Liberty runs like a champ at 400,38/900,58/1100,62/1350,78 All day (15hrs) moderate use and still at 50% when I put it on the charger at night. No profiles set up, I just let it run on demand all the time, to be honest I have never seen really bad battery life on any rom. I said in a different post that I wonder if these people with bad battery life is just because they never set their phones down, not that their even using it for anything productive, Ive got friends that keep changing settings all the time, to the point where they dont even know what they like. I set it and forget it!

I've got similar numbers to the OP:
300 - 20
533 - 30
766 - 40
1000 - 50
My phone doesn't like overclocking (freezes often enough that it's very annoying), so I don't really do it. I did have some fairly stable settings when I was experimenting tho:
1275 - 70
1000 - 55
700 - 40
300 - 25
I should tweak them more and get something stable going...

Serious? 70 vsel for 1275? My phone runs without a single reboot at 60vsel for 1.25 ghz.

yeah, i use quick clock advanced and that is the battery saver profile but i have tweaked it a little so the the highest frequency is at 800 vs 900. Overall though with normal to moderate usage i can get like 15 hours on a single charge by the time i put it on the charger at night. I am tempted to try out kjars battery tweak but i cant go without my blue gingerbread dancedroidoverall im very happy with my battery life, but how you get 15+ hours while being overclocked is beyond me. whenever i overclock my battery life goes to the pooper, but im not crazy about overclocking for speed cause my phone is still pretty fast underclocked and im getting primo batt life. just my 2 cents though.

The single best thing I did to improve battery life was install a brightness wiget, I keep th screen almost all the way down and only increase brightness as needed check your settings the single most user of your power is the screen, I dont care what rom you use or how you use it.

now this is very true, i have switch pro widget and that has a brightness feature on it and most of the time i just keep it on auto brightness. now i saw a thread on here about setting the lowest auto brightness to even lower, should i go about trying that?

definitely set screen to lowest setting you can comfortable see it will make a world of diff. also I know those live wall papers are cool but they use more CPU, in turn more power so turn it off if you have one. Also have you reset your batt. stats? I always do this when I install a new rom.

I haven't had too much luck with over clocking. I'm looking forward to the vsel calculator that's coming in the next update so maybe I can get the values for my particular phone. I use set cpu to keep the cpu at 300 MHz when the screen is off and think that helps me get better battery life.

How do you reset the battery? Thanks

Charge to 100% go into clockwork/advanced/battery stats/ then wipe, reboot, let the battery drain all the way down until it shuts itself off, and then recharge completely while phone is off, not a lot of work, just takes time

Everyone talks about how long the battery lasts what about temperature I'm overclocked 1.3 my batterycan get to 104 is that ok what temp should battery be?

Your going to get a lot of different opinions on this about the exact temp that is safe, Let me say this, I have a lot of experience with lithium based batteries in the R/C field and the actual safe cutoff temp. is going to be diff. for every batt. keep in mind these are made in third world countries so quality can vary. Now as far as temps, I dont like to see anything over 100F not because higher temps are unsafe, but as temps get above what a manufacturer designs the cells for they start to
degrade. This means a battery run at a cooler temp will last longer, people will come on here and tell you they ran their battery at 120F for 4Hrs without a problem, but ask them to report in a year later on how that same battery holds a charge, If their honest theyd tell you its not very good. Bottom line, in anything with fragile electronics cooler is better! (unless were talking Antarctica!!!) LOLdancedroidhope this helped.

Thanks I kinda thought 100F was the magic # I kind of remember that from stock. Bought my droidX end july rooted in aug havent been stock since. Im in Illinois feels like Antarctia lately
.

Same here in Ohio. I just want to add that higher temps cannot always be helped, for instance if you vacation in mexico, or live there, you will obviously see higher temps on a day to day basis. But do what you can to keep them down, that trick silicon case your using might look "cool" but its also keeping heat in your phone. Try loosing it when experiencing heavy usage. Also keep in mind that "EVERYTHING" runs on "MAGIC SMOKE"!!! Once you let it out. You cant put it back in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:icon_evil:
