Unified inbox not working?

Hey guys so I flashed the Motoblur unified inbox and I get alerts when I get an email but the widget and the app itself doesn't work. Ideas?

Are you getting any error when you try to use them? Does it just FC?

A few more questions...

Do you see it in the app draw? Or can you find it in the installed apps list?

If you can find it there are you able to uninstall and re-install? Also, have you verified it the actual program and not just the widget?

I cant find the app installed anywhere on my phone and not even as a widget. I tried moving the file to the System/apps folder but Astro won't let me.

You may need to get the Verizon market app and DL this from their market as I think it's program. If you're willing to try new things (which you must be if you're using SF2.0, right?) you can try k-9 mail. It has support for a unified inbox.

I also tried K9mail and MailDroid...K-9 I could not get working and Maildroid was slow to push...

However, got the stock email app working thanks to this thread!!

Im interested in having a universal inbox though!!

I posted the stock email instructions because I thought that you may want to follow the same steps to install the universal inbox just switching the appropriate apk

I couldn't get those instructions to work. My phone wouldn't let me write to the apps directory and I couldn't install the APK.

when you are in root explorer you may have to switch from r/o to r/w to be able to move files and change permissions. i don't believe you can do that with ASTRO or at least I've never seen an option for it. universal inbox has two .apks that need to be moved to system/app and have the permissions changed to rw/r/r

You don't install it - Once you move it to system/app you just long press it and press "permissions" change the first one to read/write, and the other two to read (uncheck everything else) and then check that the permissions are the same as the other apps in that folder (it will say rw/r/r below it) then restart your phone and it will be there.
