Unknown problem

I am having a problem with my Droid. When I press the power button for the kill screen option, it goes instead to my phone options menu, I can't get it to just kill the screen anymore. Is anyone else having this issue or does anyone know a fix for it? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you pulled the battery?

Yes I did try the battery trick. Sorry forgot to mention that.

Is this a stock droid or what?
If stock I check the last apps installed or updated. Might be the cause.
Might start uninstalling to find the app that may be the cause.
If non stock tell us about the setup.
