The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus will arrive on July 12 at a starting price of $199. but these two phones are also some of the few options out there that work across all of the major US carriers, including Verizon. At this point, not even the incoming flagship Moto Z line can say that, unless something changes last minute.

This means that whatever carrier in the US you are on the phone will just work out of the box on it. If you have an SIM card for AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, or Sprint, all you will need to do is slide in the SIM and turn on the phone. That’s it.

Motorola’s spec sheet::

Moto G (XT1625)
CDMA (850, 1900 MHz)
GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS / HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz)
4G LTE (B1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 25, 26, 41)

Moto G4 Plus (XT1644)
CDMA (850, 1900 MHz)
GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS / HSPA+ (850, 900, 1700, 1900, 2100 MHz)
4G LTE (B1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 25, 26, 41)

Looks like all the bands needed.

This is good news for those on Verizon interested in this device.

This would certainly be an upgrade for my friend with a 1st Gen Moto X (that she's totally annoyed with), right?

so.... these will work but the Moto Z won't work on verizon.

Thanks big red, I'm pretty sure you had a hand in this.

If she is not a spec freak, and just wants a really good phone for a good price...yes. this would be great. I am looking at these for new phones for my kids. Great phone for the price.

I would say Verizon definitely had a major hand in the design, build and money behind the Moto Z line to be able to control it before its even released.
