Upgraded to 2.1, but can I roll back to previous OS?

I upgraded to 2.1 on Sunday and have experienced several problems (i.e., lost all contact information, a few apps, inability to set speed dials). I went to the Verizon Wireless kiosk where I purchased the Droid Eris and the representative couldn't help me fix the bugs.

I had no problems whatsoever with the previous OS and would like to roll back to it, if possible.

Can someone tell me if this is possible and, if so, how to proceed?

Appreciate the help.

I'd love to know the answer to this myself. The latest update screwed everything for me. For example, I un-synced my contacts because I only wanted people I call in my phone (about 20 people) and not the people I email (over 1,500+ people). The latest update synced my contacts, so now I have a massive list again that took forever to sort through when I first got my phone. Also I can't seem to get individual bookmark icons on my screen anymore, except in the widget, which is not what I want. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I have a HTC Droid Eris...

Go to the Eris section and look in there Forums the thread that has the fix. I'd give you a link but I'm on my Droid. Many people are having the contact lost issue and other problems. You can find help there.
