Upgrading phone-Verizon

So, I have had an X2 for about a month, ever since my Droid 2 died. When
I brought in the phone, I was available for a partial upgrade. Being that the
Nexus was 450 dollars, I decided to let the price go down a little. Now, the price
for an upgrade on Amazon is 150, but are there any other costs I'm going to be
hit with? Ideally, I'd just buy the phone on Amazon and switch it out at the store.

Does anyone know about any other fees/costs I'm looking at by doing this?

I believe that when you buy a phone on renewal your monthly payment rises to cover the cost. Maybe it depends on company/plan but my friend working at tmobile told me this.
