USB sleeve on original Droid busted

That little metal sleeve around the perimeter of the USB on my Droid is broken, split where it is bent together it appears. It has really started to suck trying to charge the thing though. I have to get the cord hanging just right or it won't take a charge.

Anyone else have this problem? Were you able to fix it?

I can't imagine myself cracking the phone open to replace the connector.

I'm just going to get a new phone from Asurion, since I have always carried the insurance. The deductable is only $89. I don't know what I'll do if they don't have a Droid available. I don't want a different phone.

I received a replacement phone from Asurion (sp?). I was happy to receive a Droid1 with all updates.

I would suggest using Asurion insurance to anyone who can't live without their phone. They had a replacement in my hand in less than 24 hours, including all accessories that were lost with the phone... no questions asked.

I'm sure they are making a profit, but it was a good deal for me too. Granted I could have upgraded through Verizon in a couple months, but the Droid wouldn't have been an option.
