USB tether has limited connectivity

I had USB internet tethering working, then I rooted to get the wifi hotspot, which is working okay. Now I have limited connectivity when I use the USB. I've tried it with 2 computers, windows XP & 7. Any suggestions?

I have been experiencing the same problem. It would appear it's not providing a dhcp lease over the usb interface. My solution was to look at the interface info on the phone and assign similar information for the ip of that interface on the computer.
