Use without activating?

Hi guys,

I just bought my girlfriend this phone from WireFly and went through one of the worst customer services in my life trying get it activated. Long story short, I will not be able to have it activated for a couple of days. I was told by the horrible customer service reps at WireFly that I could not turn on the phone and use it just on wifi until I was able to get it activated. Can anyone confirm this? I tried doing some research but could not find a clear answer. I just want to get everything set up for her, but I don't want to mess anything up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

yes you can i dont see why not.just leave the sim card out and just put the battery in, connect to your wifi and ur ready to go. im not sure if you can make calls but i would think so.

PM me your order number and I will have our activations manager look into this for you. That does not sound right at all. I am really sorry about this experience.

That's the stupidest thing I've heard in a while. The Wirefly rep didn't know what they were talking about. Leave the SIM out, as stated above and just power the device on. Connect to your wifi and set up your Google account. You won't be able to make calls but you'll be able to do everything else over wifi.

If you're desperate, walk into a Verizon store and they'll give you a new sim card.
