So 225$ with car charger if the seller is willing to meet in a Verizon store to sell it upon activation should I make the plunge?

Currently do not have a data plan this upgrade shouldn't rope me into a new contract right? (Been month to month for years now...)

So many nice looking rumors out there though... I'm not sure I can last till LTE on this LG Env2 but would prefer to stay off contract...

Yea sounds like a fair deal and no it wont change your plan unless you dont have a data plan now, that will have to be added on at $30.00 a month extra. Make sure the ESN is clean and you should be able to switch it in about a minute or two
