using connectbot ssh client - looking for keyboard help

Hello - have a new motorola droid phone and am new to the forum - I am using connectbot ssh client to connect to linux servers and would appreciate any pointers, links, tips, tricks or howto's for using the physical keyboard especially for doing ctrl c, ctrl z, ctrl d
any help appreciated, thanks in advance.
