Using Droid-X Overclock

Would someone like to put up a little information on how to use the app "Droid X" overclock. I am looking to understand more of what overclocking and underclocking can do. This app appears very custimizable and you can change it to fit your needs. Ie. Speeding up when doing alot of surfing or slowing it down to save battery. What are some stable settings that don't run to hot? What is too low on the underclock to avoid bootloops?

Any help would be great!
