using wifi on huawei ascend

well, i don't have verizon, i have cricket. i want to use the internet at home using my ascend phone. when it shows up in my phone, i click on it, and type in my network password. it says unable to connect, why is that? i know the password and it is a secured network, why am i getting that message? cricket wasn't really helpful, so i am looking at other sources that can help me.

First make sure you are typing the password correctly, case sensitive.

Secondly this has happened to me before, I had to unplug the router power cord and then plug it back in.

Also talk to whoever set up your wireless router to make sure they are not filtering MAC addresses. Some people use MAC filtering as an extra security measure. If they are have then add your Huawei Ascend's MAC address. You can find your MAC address in the settings section.
